We are excited to announce that we have added 2 new full-time members to the Animikii team!

Dakota Lightning (yes, he wins for the coolest name) joined us this summer from Edmonton. He has worked with us as a contractor on quite a few projects and we convinced him to join us full time as our front-end designer and developer. Dakota brings our projects to life by making them look great and work across all platforms. Our resident front-end expert and gamer extraordinaire, Dakota now lives & works on Vancouver Island. Dakota is a member of the Samson Cree Nation. Animikii means "Thunder" in Ojibwe so how cool is it that Mr. Lightning has joined us?!

Mat Harvard (wins for tallest team member) has been working with Animikii as a contractor since before he could vote and now he's all grown up. Mat joins us as a back-end software developer and is instrumental in making our projects successful. Mat has been designing and developing user experiences through software development since 2006. His focus is on building and maintaining web-based products that are easy to use. Mat joined us full-time in September.

I am so excited to have Dakota & Mat join Robyn & me as core Animikii team members. We're having a blast working on some amazing projects that I can't wait to tell you about.

New Offices: Victoria & Vancouver

Head Office @ Songhees Nation

We have moved our head office to Songhees territory in Victoria. We are in the old band office buildings if you want to come and say hi! All four of us are here plus we're sharing office space with my brother, Scott Ward. Victoria made the most sense to open a head office in as all our team members are here.

Vancouver Satellite Office @ The HiVE

The HiVE is a collaborative space in Gastown and they have recently accepted us as members. The HiVE exists to support and amplify the social impact sector by providing the social cohesion, human capital and resources that enable their members and partners to thrive. They’re making this happen by using the powerful tool of shared-space to co-work, host events, deliver programming, and build community. Animikii and The HiVE share a vision in many aspects so we are thrilled to have a place to call home in Vancouver.

We will be regularly working from this location as my time living in Vancouver connected me with so many amazing individuals, companies and organizations working diligently to change the world. The HiVE is at the heart of tech in Vancouver and Canada and as a technology company, we need to stay connected. Vancouver is also where most of our clients are too!

The HiVE is the best second home we could ask for :)
