In 2019, Animikii had the opportunity to collaborate with CBC Indigenous for the design of new assets to support the promotion of the Junior J School project, including posters, a stair wrap, the digital event banner for the CBC Website, and social media assets.
Hosted by CBC British Columbia in coordination with Songhess and Esquimalt Nations, the Indigenous Junior J School brings in indigenous youth from grade 10-12 in the greater Victoria area to teach them about journalism and working in the media. Facilitated by a number of Indigenous communication professionals, participants learn that they can have a voice, tell their story and make an impact on how Indigenous Peoples are portrayed in the world.
