Kanaka Bar Band First Nation is known as T'eqt''aqtn'mux" or "the crossing place people". In the spirit of sharing and transparency, Chief Patrick Michelle and the Kanaka Bar Band has created a website to communicate with the community and update all visitors with the incredible innovations within the community to continue the Nation's 8,000 years of sustainability, resiliency and healthy ecosystems with the land. Solar power, renewable energy, agriculture (bees, honey, flowers, chickens, fruits and vegetables), social-economic development, water and land protection are working to prevent climate change impacts on the community. The Nation's shares presentations, newsletters, job postings, event photos, and documents on the website regularly.
Animikii has partnered with Kanaka to support their website redesign, development, and general website maintenance since 2015. We are so grateful for our partnership and friendship with Chief Patrick Michelle and the Kanaka Bar Band.
